I was wondering if anyone has used any PHP-based ORMs that are
available. I have read a little bit about Doctrine and Propel. It
appears that the Creole project, which Propel utilizes, is no longer
being developed... any ideas of the future of this project?
I am just trying to get a good sense of what is available, and what
users' reactions are to any projects.

You may want to take a look at Metastorage. It is not exactly an ORM
library, but an ORM class generation tool.
It is probably one of the oldest ORM tools for PHP and it is supported,
despite there have not been many releases recently, mainly because it is
already a mature tool that is feature complete.
