how would i go about getting the location of the current error 404
document for some directory with php?  looking at the .htaccess file
for a given directory isn't gonna do it because the error 404 document
could have been assigned in some preceeding directory, or somewhere

as a follow up question, what would happen if i added the following

 header('HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found');

to a script which normally returns 'HTTP/1.1 200 OK'?  would the
header statement overwrite the 'HTTP/1.1 200 OK' part of the http
response packet, or would it simply result in their being two HTTP
response codes in the HTTP packet?
