I'm hoping someone will give me the latest info here about PHP policy
to enable extensions.    [Preferably not -
"Move them around under C:\Windows  until it works ..."  ]

I've installed  PHP5 in  C:\PHP

Meaningful excerpts:  from php.ini
; Directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside.
extension_dir = "./"

TIA  for your advice on this.

Quoted text here. Click to load it

 So change it to your PHP extensions directory:

extension_dir = "c:/php/ext"

Quoted text here. Click to load it

 This in turn requires the MySQL client library. This is bundled with PHP in
the top-level PHP directory, so modify your PATH environment variable to
include c:\php.

 Do not copy anything into Windows directories.
