I am currently trying to build the latest PHP 6 snapshot to test scripts
for compatibility, but have not yet managed to add PDO MySQL support.
On the first attempt at compilation, I didn't set any configure
parameters at all; the result was support for PDO-SQLite and PDO-SQLite2.
On the second attempt, I set --with-pdo-mysql=shared,/usr (my MySQL
installation is at /usr), and while it compiled with PDO-SQlite support,
I didn't get any MySQL. The lib directory contained "pdo_mysql.so" and
"pdo_mysql.a", but editing php.ini and adding
had no effect.
On the third attempt, I set the above flag and also "--enable-pdo=shared
- --with-sqlite=shared --with-pdo-sqlite=shared" as some sites
recommended. The lib directory now contained "pdo_mysql.so",
"sqlite.so", pdo_sqlite.so" and "pdo.so" (as well as *.a), but phpinfo()
now showed no support for PDO at all. Adding the following:
added support for SQlite2 again, but not MySQL.
As my computer takes about 50 minutes to compile PHP6, I don't want to
waste further time experimenting without a solid lead. Am I missing a
"mysql.so" library? And what options do I need to set to get one when
