Can anyone suggest a script?

Need a script to allow users to post their social events, and having a
devil of a time finding one.  Some criteria:

Users can post their own event, without requiring any kind of
registration.  Would be nice if they could be assigned a code that
would allow them to access their post and make changes or delete it

Posts must be okayed by an administrator prior to appearing in the

Data fields must be changeable, to include such things as Event
Title, Start Date, End Date, Time, Contact Person, Contact Telephone,
Category, etcetera.

For convenience in using the submitted data in other medium, a
flat-file backend is the option of choice.  Otherwise, export to CSV
is a preferred.

Events must be searchable by keyword, category, date, etcetera.

I do not need a calendar displayed with this--just for the events to
be displayed as a series of search results.

The search interface and results MUST be able to be included in a
PHP page without disturbing the layout or requiring awkward use of

The closest thing I've found is something called @1 Event Publisher,
which is a CGI script that my host won't approve (they're fine with
anything PHP).  Plus, it's too inflexible for the things I need to do.
But that a look at the demos on and you'll get an
excellent idea of what kind of search/results I'm looking for.  I like
what it does, but I need to be able to change the fields to better
reflect the data being submitted.

I'm not up to speed on PHP enough yet to program a script myself,
sadly.  If anyone can offer any ideas for a PHP database script that
accomplishes the same thing and can be customized, I'd certainly be
willing to look into it.

Any suggestions are most appreciated.

sounds like you need a web programmer, not a script.  If you're interested
in ASP.NET, I recommend DotNetNuke, or if you want to stick with PHP, you
might look at WordPress

Sounds like you need to edit a guestbook script
