Have you had a look at splain/diagnostics?
At run-time, 'use diagnostics' instead of 'use warnings' will emit more
verbose error messages:
You can also dump stderr to a file, and use the 'splain' utility:
perl program 2>diag.out
See 'perldoc diagnostics' for more. Also see 'perldoc perldiag' for a
complete list of all the extended warnings.
