Abigail said exactly what he meant to. New() is not an object constructor
by definition. It is commonly used as such by convention.
Once again, Captain Obvious saves the day!
You have no idea what the term "by definition" means, do you? The very fact
that you chose for yourself to follow convention proves that new() is not
an object constructor by definition. If it were, there would have been no
choice for you to make.
The point is that you're wrong. You can whine that it's rude to point out
your mistake, or learn from your mistake and move on - your choice.
