I'm attempting to install the perl Tk module via CPAN and
during the 'make test' phase I get several error meesages
such as this:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
couldn't connect to display ":0" at
/root/.cpan/build/Tk-804.027/blib/lib/Tk/MainWindow.pm line 55.
There are enough failed tests to pervent this module from
What is causing these messages to be generated and how can I
correct the problem?
FYI, this is being run under SuSE 9.1 Pro,
Perl, v5.8.3 built for i586-linux-thread-multi

CPAN runs tests as root, and root isn't authorized to connect to your
local X server. You can authorize it with 'xhost +root'.
