maybe they will be replaced by smartphones? But I haven't been keeping
up with the industry lately.
Anyway, which OS do you think I should shoot for? It should be one for
which people download and install third party software, like they have
for the Palms.
Thanks a lot!
Re: Which OS will come to dominate?
You seem to be confused, at one point you're talking about PalmOS vs
something else, then you said something about smartphones.
If you're talking about PalmOS vs Windows, say so. If you're talking
about standalone PDAs vs smartphones, say that.
Both PalmOS and Windows based PDAs can optionally have phone
capabilities to them -- It's not PalmOS vs smartphones, virtually every
Treo released (except for the 100, and the "w" models) are a PalmOS
In the PalmOS world there are PDAs and smartphones.
In the Windows world, it's a bit more complex, you have PDAs, PDAs with
phone capabilities (Treo W models), smartphones (Stylus-less devices),
and I believe there is even a tablet running Vista with an integrated
phone too (or if it's not out, it may have just gotten announced at CES)
There is also the Apple phone upcoming, which runs native OSX.
Insert something clever here.
