Seeking recommendation on a handheld

I spend tons of hours reading online newspaper and magazine articles
from the Internet. I also save alot of articles on my home or office
computer for future reading.

I would love to be able to use my hour-long subway commute to read
these saved articles by transferring the files onto some sort of
handheld device.

From reading through some old Usenet messages, it seems that there has
to be some sort of "hotsynching" process and also some further
converting of the file to a format that the handheld can read.

Does anyone know of a good handheld for me?

Thank you.

Plucker         - Open Source
iSilo           - Extra features require paying for the app
Avantgo         - pay for it
MobiPocket      - Not sure if the PC app can run in free mode or not?

are a few Palm OS based applications that have PC (and in some cases
Mac) counter parts that will fetch web pages off the net, convert them
to a format that can be read on your Palm OS based PDA.

Now all you need to do is decide on which Palm OS based PDA you want to
own :-)
