I've got a TE2, intend to store the data on one or more SD cards. I'm
mainly looking for street maps within cities, and it would be ideal if I
can get directions to an address from the Palm, although it's not
critical, even just seeing overhead maps would be sufficient if I can
I'm looking at Tomtom's software, but I can't for the life of me figure
out how to trial it or buy it, they don't sell it from their own site,
they don't show any distributors in Canada, and none of the links in the
US appear to sell the software alone, they all want to sell me more
I'm also curious about desktop PC software, I'll probably use MapPoint
2004, since I have it licensed already, although it looks like Streets
and Trips 2005 might actually be a better product for my needs. I'd
love to find something that plays nice with my Palm, but again, it's not
I'm in Calgary Alberta, and will be traveling in/around Dallas and
in/around Phoenix next month, I'd love to find something that would be
useful in all three locations.
You're not as stupid as you look, or sound, or our best testing indicates.
I have that one on my short list, but they don't seem to have a trial
available in my area. I've emailed them to find out if they have any
options, I'm happy with a money back guarantee, but I don't want to find
out the hard way that their software can't live up to it's promises.
To the book depository!
I'm in Calgary Alberta, and it says "The map of this province is
available as part of Map Packs only." -- As far as I can tell I can't
get a free demo of this one specific map :(
I'm absolutely insistent on being able to test something here in Calgary
before I show up in the US in a city I've never before visited only to
find out that the maps I've got aren't useful.

what fool came up with, "Quit while you're ahead"?
