I loved my T|X but it died the other day and I want to get a new PDA. I
don't want a phone or e-mail system attached, just something to do contacts,
calendar, a few basic applications (like outlines) and a few games. I wanted
the Palm Centro but Verizon said they only sell that with a contract (which
I don't want). I'm not married to the Palm OS but I see that some of the
Palm machines run Windows Mobile. At this point I'm even willing to consider
in IPAQ.
Obviously I've been out of the PDA market for a while so if anyone can help
me with the basics, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
Paula
Re: Just want a PDA
run applications, play games, and keep a calendar and address book.
There is no phone involved. You can get e-mail if you want, just like
you could on your Palm T|X. It has Wi-Fi, so you need not pay for a plan.
Otherwise, you can go to PDAPreferred.com and pick up a refurbished
Palm. I would stay away from the Tungsten E2. The Tungsten C is pretty
good, if you can handle a keypad instead of the graffiti area.

Expansys sold Centro without contract in UK, they have US operation.
Look for suppliers of kit not suppliers of phone services! I'm not sure
Centro is still being produced now pre is launched. You could do a
search for Palm Zire - maybe still a few around. I went from Palm IIIxe
to Zire 71 to Centro and it was dead easy to move all the data and
history along with me.

Don't bother with piddly crap like "gun control".
Life is 100% fatal. Ban it.
