When my palm m130 died, it did a hard reset, and when I tried to
hotsync it, the desk top qould not recognise it. A helpful person
suggested I reinstall the desktop, and I did that, which fixed the
hotsync problem, but it lost my remaining data in the process.

Can anyone tell me where to find the data files or anything to help me
get my life's info back? I am running a G4 imac with both os9 and
10.3.5. The palm software runs on the classic side. Any mac people out

Thanks in advance,

I am at work so this is off the top of my head but...

In the directory where you installed the desktop there will be a directory
PH0 or maybe PH1 look in there and see if you find some of your *.pdb's  If
you recognize anything this is probably your old backup directory.

Simply place the contents of this directory in the new backup directory and

Re: dead palm revived with no data

Thanks for the help. I did find the .pdb files, but they are from the
new install, not the old ones. I found some old notes about how palm
4.1 erases the older 2.6.3, which is what I run. I didn't find any more
info about restoring the data in that note. Any more ideas, anyone?
