- OCZ DDRAM - Gold or Platinum?

The Gold edition of the Gamers' Extreme XTC DDRAM
(1GB DIMMs) has recommended timings of
2 - 3 - 3 - 8 at DDR400 speeds,
3 - 4 - 3 - 8 at DDR500 speeds.
The Platinum edition has recommended timings of
2 - 3 - 2 - 5 at DDR400 speeds,
3 - 3 - 3 - 8 at DDR500 speeds.
Obviously, the Platinum edition will go that little
bit faster without compromising integrity - that's
what you pay about 30% extra for.
But can I run the Gold DIMMs in dual channel mode
at 2 - 3 - 3 - 5 at DDR400 speeds with impunity?
Is that 8 in the min RAS# active time a misprint?
Re: OCZ DDRAM - Gold or Platinum?
If you want to run at stock voltage or just slightly higher
(no more than 2.8V), stick with Infineon Rev C -5's on
BrainPower PCBs. Currently Corsair sells this combo
as their 3500LL modules, and (I believe) OCZ uses this
combo in their Gold XTC.
And yes I believe that "8" at DDR400 is a typo. Those
modules can run at 5 no problem, although by the time
you get to 240MHz or so you'll need 7.
