I have a new core 2 duo proc. and need suggestions for a good inexpensive,
MoBo for this chip. It is the 1.86 Gig proc, and I have heard it's like the
old 300 MHz Celery, as far as overclockability goes, those were the good
old days! I got 450MHz easily with an old BX chipset MoBo.
I need to find a good, inexpensive (read not CHEAP example: no PCChips type
crap) MoBo for this chip (like ASUS, Gigabyte, in otherwords a name brand
that others have been successful with overclocking included) and some
recommendations for DDR2 memory and a good mid range pcie video card, I
prefer an ATI AIW card if possible,(running an old 9000 card now) but I
want this system to be fully compatible with VISTA too......so if I have to
I will go with a regular Vid. Card, and a tuner add in card if need be.
I am basically starting over from an AMD 64 3000+ system, so NOTHING will
carry over, not mem, not video, obliviously not MoBo, Yes I do know about
the boards that have the ability to use the older DDR1 mem and agp, but if I
am going to do this right I want to do it right! I did get a free MoBo with
the chip at Fry's, an ECS P4M800Pro-M v2 but it is not good for
overclocking, and I am going to sell it on eBay cheap....to offset the cost
of a good (or better) MoBo.
Anyone interested in this board can post here, as I said I will sell it
cheap, if anyone needs this type of MoBo.
All help is greatly appreciated!!!
