Not sure what NG to use but here goes...
I'm new to Intel having always used AMD but have bought a desktop
replacement notebook which comes with an Intel P4 540 3.2, 1mb L2 cache
(Socket 775) - The mainborad chipset is decribed as 915P + ICH6.....I have a
couple of questions relating to this spec...(Forgive my ignorance of
I'm trying to find out what make the mb is but don't know yet but typically
would I be limited to the 500 range of cpu's for future upgrades....? Could
I install a 600 series which has the same socket?
The mainboard supports DDR2 ram and comes with 1 x 512mb stick of 533mhz
DDR2 - What would be a fast (gaming spec) replacement as I would like to
install 2gb of DDR?
