 I've formated my hard drive and of course lost all the dell drivers. How do
I find out which one I need to download and install? At present I only have
a very very basic display with 16 colours.

Have you tried "Support," on Dell's website?

Run the system/utilities disc that was supplied with the machine and is
an essential component of the machine.

I bought the laptop from a dell reseller. He didn't give me any disks!

Which begs the question: why were you content to buy half a machine?
