hi
i got a laptop about a year ago now and it came with vista

vista didnt work well and was very slow so i downgraded to xp

vista had media centre on it and i want to get media center on xp.

it says on microsoft that you get a copy with it but can i get a copy of
media center for xp for free or do i pay 10 pound or something to get another
disc with it on?

please help me

Re: HELP

Windows Media Center is an operating system, not an add, on for XP, and
definitely not free, you'll have to purchase a copy from a software vendor
such as newegg.com, then format your hard drive and install fresh as it will
not perform an upgrade.

Re: HELP

Windows Media Center 2005 is built on top of Windows XP Professional.
You can not install Windows Media Center as a separate program. Media Center
is integrated into Windows.

Media Center IS an operating system
You can buy an OEM version from Newegg and other vendors.

Re: HELP

Vista now with SP1 works a lot better then it did a year ago so I suggest
that you try re-installing it since you can not downgrade it to MCE2005.
Then use this newsgroup to resolve any Vista problems you are having.
