how do I locate and change the storage location of my video files created
when I record TV with Media Center. I can view them and create DVD's in
Media Center but I would like to use another program to edit and burn the
DVD's. Problem is I can't find where the recorded TV shows are located.

By default they will be in the public recorded TV folder.

You can change where they get recorded to by going to
tasks/settings/TV/recorder

When I go to settings/tv/recorder/storage, I can not change location. The
only thing I can change is max. TV limit and quality. Clicking on "Location"
doesn't do a thing. By doing a search I can not locate "Public recorded TV
folder. I am using XP, not Vista. I have no trouble finding video created
by Nero or U-Lead but I can not find video recorded by Media Center. Still
looking........

Try C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Recorded TV.

Additionally, if you don't have multiple hard disks, you can't change the
Recorded TV location from within Media Center, as it only allows you to
select the drive, not the folder. To manually specify a drive and folder
(may not work) go to Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media
Center\Service\Recording

Locate the RecordPath value in the right pane, double click it and type in
the path to the drive and folder you want to use. Make sure you include the
trailing backslash character.
