I have been using xming to get a graphical desktop on a headless box.
Recently I put a firewall on the box as I plan to have the router do some
port forwarding to it.
Now, putty will establish the login but X won't work. I've gone as far as
putting in a rule for the machine I'm using to ssh in but IPTABLES still
won't let me set the connection up. If I stop IPTABLES, it's fine.
Here's the start of the list:
:FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0]
:INPUT DROP [50000:163218]
:OUTPUT ACCEPT [1446169:768835286]
-A INPUT -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -s 192.168.42.99 -j ACCEPT
Shouldn't the last rule just let me in? Do I need an output rule?
