Hello all,

My dad uses a (very old) Compaq. This is one of those Old LTE 5300s.
Runs a Pentium 133Mhz and 2.4 GB hard drive

But for his needs it was perfect. Checking e-mail, surfin the web. More
than perfect.

Now suddenly since yesterday, the laptop screen is "shivering". Thats
the best way I can describe it. The shiver is vertical (quick jerking
sort of north-south movements)  although u can see a bunch of
horizontal lines on a black/gray screen.

As I am moving the mouse around, the left countour of the mouse pointer
is perfect but the right side seems constantly pulled towards the
right. So I have a hazy mouse pointer in addition to all the hazy

I seriously wish I could take a video and post it somehow to better
explain what I am trying to say.

I tried shutting down the computer several times waiting overnight (for
some magic to happen) but I am stumped. Never seen anything like this

Thanks a lot to everyone who reads this

Re: Wierd/Amusing Problem With Laptop LCD

I'm suspicious of a bad cable from the motherboard to the LCD panel
(base to lid).
