Hello all,

I am a new meber in this group. I have Think pad Z60m.

I have a question regarding the S-video out. I think most of you
know the answer, please reply me if u know the solution.

I have seen a Dell laptop with ATI graphics card and when the
computer is connected to the TV with an s-video port, the laptop is
displaying only movie which is played on the laptop. And we can browse
the laptop while watching the movie on TV in the same laptop. That
means its displaying the movie only through the s-video out.

I have intel 910 chipset, intel graphics card. when i connect the
laptop to TV its displaying what ever i browse on the laptop. Is there
any possibility that I can only watch movie while I am browsing on my

Thanks in advance..

Re: viewing from s-video

There are so many ways that this is done and can be configured that your
question is surprisingly hard to answer.  Look for "theatre mode", but
also how you configure the displays in display properties will change
how it works.  As well as the chipset and the BIOS. wrote:

yes there is a strong possibility that you can only "mirror" what is on
your computer.  usually only ATI & Nvidia let you truly use the TV as
another independent monitor - the Intels tend to offer the same display
