I really like this laptop the screen is beautiful and the computer is
quick. The laptop is really light and easy to carry around. The
speakers sound great Toshiba included a software program that expandes
the speakers into a surround sound mode. It doesn't do much for music
but tv shows and movies sound awesome! Like there are 4 speakers! You
can't beat the HD size I already filled it up though :( Another
positive thing is that on the left side there is a huge vent that blows
out hot air. So the laptop stays really cool, which is all I could ask
for. There are a few things I don't like. The battery life is SHORT
average is 1 1/2 hours. Because of the big cool speakers the keys on
the laptop are pushed down and they cut the palm resting area down. So
there is little room to set your hands well typing. The dvd drive
included in this laptop has gotten mixed reviews. The complaints say
that it fails, meaning drops data often, creates errors when burning.
In my experience I have burnt a 50 pack of 4.3gb dvds and 5 disks have
failed on me. I have had no problems ripping movies just burning. What
I noticed was if I burnt a dvd I had to exit the program Nero in this
case and restart it. I haven't had a problem this way. the last thing I
don't like is the video card, the Intel card sucks for gaming.
A+ This computer is awesome the only thing I would change would be a
better video card. but for 1000 dollars this laptop ROCKS!
I Really Hope this helps some1! Please let me know what your
experienses have been.
Re: Toshiba M55-S3293, S3293 Harmon/Kardon Review
Well, I loved mine for 5 months then the hard drive died. One week in
the local ASP for a new HD - still didn't work. :crybaby: Another
week in the Toshiba Depot for a new HD & new DIMMs.
Now, 5 times out of 10 if I remove the power cord the computer just
shuts off
I wish I would have bought the scam Best Buy Protection Plan.
Thank goodness I purchased it on the American Express card which
allegedly doubles the manufactures warranty. I'm sure I'll be making
another warranty claim before too long. :paranoid: :paranoid:
