I own a Toshiba 480 CDT  and does not start up
After switching on i get the Toshiba logo and after a few seconds it says
īnsert system disk in drive. Press any key when ready
But there is no disk drive only a CD drive and when i put in a bootable cd
the unit say  the same again.
In the bios i can change the boot sequence but no difference
The HD in the system is formatted and made bootable with DOS
Anyone a suggestion to do

Re: Toshiba 480CDT

It sounds like the hard drive does not have an ACTIVE partition.

Re: Toshiba 480CDT

Put the same dos floppy disk that been used to format. When get A prompt
type & enter sys c:
Take out floppy and reboot the laptop.

If didn't work than Fdisk, delete partition, create partition. Format hard
drive. Repeat step 1 for non-system disk error.

Still didn't work, than sell it to me for $40 :)  (replace hard drive)

Re: Toshiba 480CDT

I formatted the HD externel ( with an adapter ) made the partition aktive
and put sys a: c:
Afterwards I put the HD in the labtop ( I don`t have a floppy drive )
So this could not be the problem I think
