I have one for each. I do not, however, have a media slice or docking
station for either. Nor do I have an external floppy or cd-rom drive.
I do have, however, a hard drive enclosure that I can connect to my
Evo. I searched the past posts and have seen numerous references to
installing an OS onto a HD in this situation but no clear
The HD shows up fine under my Windows XP machine and gives me the
option of formatting under disk manager. I can choose either fat32 or
ntfs. I can also assign drive letters of E: and above. I can also make
a partition active.
Is there a site that details what should be done or can someone offer
install-for-dummies? I intend on installing Windows 2000 Pro since
that's the COA on the X20. I have the cd and presume I can copy it to
a small partition on the hard drive for later use.
Thanks to all who might be willing to contribute.

When you install an OS like Windows, it will ask you where on what drive
you want to install it. If it is possible, it will show the other drive
as an option. It will also format it for you if you would like. Although
you must have it partitioned first I believe. Windows 2000, XP, nor with
Vista, it doesn't matter if it is a primary partition or not on the
second OS on the second HD. It is pretty easy.
