cheap. Problem is when I boot up holding F1 down (either with or
without the CD recovery disk in the drive) I keep getting the hard
drive password prompt and I'm clueless and don't care what the password
is, as I want to reset to the factory condition.
What do I need to do ? Thanks for any suggestions.
Re: Thinkpad 770ED recovery
The HD password is on the drive itself and is very difficult to remove.
You basically have to replace the drive. If you do replace the drive,
I'm not certain if you also have to reset the supervisor password on
the motherboard. That's also difficult, but less so than resetting
a hard drive password.
