I am facing a problem with my Sony Vaio Tx27 where when I am typing suddenly
the cursor will jump into another position in my typing. Clearly it is the
touchpad which is taking some touch from my hand causing this. However, this
has only just started happening in the last few weeks and since I have been
using the notebook for 18mths , I must assume that some setting has changed.
Perhaps something in the settings for the touchpad but try as I might, I
cannot find anything to change the settings for this.
Does anyone have an idea where to look for this ?

Sounds like "Tap to Click" is enabled to me. You also can toggle "Hide
pointer while typing". This applies if you use a Synaptics driver. If
you use another one, the idea is the same.
