I'm new to these forums.
I was hoping someone could hep me figure something out.
I have a Sony Vaio, VPCEB27FD. I want to be able to use my physical
power button to restart my computer instead of powering
Is there any software 'hack' that can be applied to accomplish this?
I know I can go into the power settings and change what happens when I
press the power button, sleep button, and closing the lid...but there
isn't an option for restarting.
I'd appreciate all the help and advice anyone could offer.
P.S. sorry for the lengthy message.
Re: Sony Vaio Physical Power Button (VPCEB27FD)
The physical power button isn't physical. It sends a signal to
the motherboard and that signal is typically passed to the OS for handling.
In Windows there's usually an optoin under the power management utility to
set the behavior when the button is pressed.
