if it's connected to the AC adapter?
My original IBM ac adapter recently died, so I purchased a generic one
and I've been having problems with it: the laptop turns off
unexpectedly, sometimes I hear the 'low battery' beep, sometimes the
battery light starts to blink and then stays on and after a while
starts blinking again, etc... The funny thing is that although the
laptop turned itself off, you can still see that one of the lights is
still on (the one to the right) and you can hear the laptop making
processing sounds (i.e. the hard drive's still working). The display is
off and it doesn't respond to anything BUT it's somehow ON and it's
I did notice that this generic ac adapter sends a 15V current while the
original one did send 16V. And I know that the battery isn't what it
used to be and that's why I've been using it as a regular PC.
So, can it run without a battery even if it's connected to the AC
