Scrolling Notebook Staggered

I am using a DELL Inspiron 4150 and every once in a while my synaptics
touchpad's scrolling facility suddenly "staggers" when I am scrolling
up and down with it. It still works, but the issue is the scrolling is
no longer smooth. To correct it is simple, all I have to do is restart
the computer. When it happens? I have no idea. Just randomly. But
frequently enough for me to write this post.

Hi Kevin! As far as I know (AFAIK), all computers act this way if either
the CPU, graphics card, memory, or even the mass storage is overloaded.
If you find a computer make and model that doesn't, then please let me
know. The only things you can do AFAIK are (1) upgrade your computer. Or
(2) dump some of your multitasking tasks. Good luck!

Thanks for the response.

I would agree with you, however, this does not EVER occur when I am
using a "normal" external mouse. It seems to only happen to my

To be precise, when this staggered scrolling problem happens to my
touchpad, and at that instant, if I attach a USB or PS2 mouse which has
a middle scroll, this problem is not evident on the external mouse.
