All you have to do is leave the existing DVD drive open and turn off the laptop.
Unscrew the one screw holding in the dvd drive in the middle of the bottom of
the laptop just over the far end of the dvd drive. Then the drive will slip out.
Then, take off the mounting assembly by unscrewing another two screws with the
same #0 phillips. (Assembly is just a piece of metal that allows the drive to be
secured to the laptop itself. Reattach the assembly to the new DVD drive, insert
into the now empty bay, reattach screw. Windows Xp will automatically recognize
your new DVD burner.
