Question about the Asus Eee and Acer Aspire (I'd like a specific yes/no
answer for each model if possible ... although it may be that no one
person can answer for both of them):

On the models that have solid state drives (SSD) instead of "real" hard
drive .... is the SSD a SATA form factor such that it can actually be
replaced by a "real" 2.5" SATA hard drive?  If so, what is the maximum
thickness allowed?

Well the EeePC 700 and 900 models use PATA PCI-e. That is those that
doesn't have the SSD soldered on the motherboard. Most of the models do.
And no, a 2.5" drive won't even physically fit in that spot.
