version=126.96.36.199 . When I query modem, it is ok, but when I connect
the telephone wire to its port, it does not detect the line. The wire
is ok, cus the same wire works ok on my other computer. What gives ?
Windows XP with SP2 is loaded. All drivers are loaded.
MODEM CONTROLLER TEST (1) DONE PASS (TOSHIBA Software Modem)
DIALTONE TEST (COM3) DONE NO RESPONSE (NO DIALTONE)
Thanks for helping me.
Re: Problem with Satellite Pro M70 Modem
Cable in ethernet socket (RJ45) instead of modem socket (smaller RJ11).
Cable wired incorrectly. Some modems use a four-conductor cable, others
(most now adays) use a two-conductor cable. You can tell by counting the
gold contacts on the small RJ11 side.
Modem socket damaged.
Any of the above :)
