budget tops at about $1400. If I need a good proccessor, XP Pro
(reccomended for students), 512 DDR, at least 40 GB of a hard drive,
the Works with Powerpoint(Small Business Edition), a pretty good
graphics card (for after homework), an internal wireless networking
card (b+g),a FREE 1 year warranty, Norton Internet Security, DVD/CD-RW,
and a pretty good screen. Where do I go? After lots of research and
comparison (mostly to Dell and Toshiba) this configuration came up
using the Hp's Pavilion zv5000z. Try it out, and see if it fits your
It really seems to be perfect, but, only if portablity isnt exactly
beaming on the top of your list. But is this really a good choice?

$599 and $699 (on sale, after rebates, but name brands like Toshiba and
HP at Best Buy, Circuit City and CompUSA), $1400 isn't a problem, you
can get a very nice unit for that.
Instead of Works, get Microsoft Office Student's & Teacher's edition
(list is $149, but it's often on sale for $99 to $119).
