I have owned the zt 1170 laptop for almost 3 yrs now. Last few months I
notices a new problem where the computer automatically powers off if I
open the screen more than 90 degrees. Its a weird thing, the whole
system will just abruptly shut off and in order to start it again I
will have to unplug the power cord and plug it back again. Also until I
reduce the angle of the screen the machine will keep turning off as
soon as I turn it on. I am planning on opening up the machine to see
and try to figure out whats going on. If anybody has an idea of what
might be messed up or had experienced the same problem please let me
know. Thanks

Sounds like a bad connection responsible.. Check the DC connector, CPU
seating fan heatsink assy for proper contact. When it pops off do any
LED's remain on?
