Hey, I was wondering if there were any programs out there, besides
SpeedFan in which I could control the fan speed of my laptops fans. If
anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great!
(Speed fan does not see my fan...)

Not what you wanted, but ... at CompUSA stores they are having closeouts
of several " laptop fan stands". you sit the laptop on top of it and it
has 2 or more fans that keep it cool while in your lap, on the desk etc.
I bought one a few weeks ago for $9.95  - marked down from $50. Mine's
an Antec , but they had others too. ( got mine in Salem,NH)

Re: Over heating laptop

If SpeedFan doesn't see it, it's unlikely other software will.

Does the fan come on at all, stay on, what?  Describe your symptoms for
better advice.

As Bobb mentioned, the cooling pads are very useful, espeically if you keep
the machine on for long periods and use it heavily.  I have an older HP
who's fan seldom came on, even when the bottom was somewhat hot to the
touch - machine got flaky after several hours continuous running.    Put an
Antec dual fan cooler under it - runs all day without a burp.

ps - putting your email address in usenet posts is not a wise thing - do you
really want more spam?
