OT SD cards

Some laptops and other devices have slots for SD cards but will not work
reliably with the newer cards that go up to 8GB. My external device does
not support over 2GB according to the manufacturer, and prefers the
slower cards.

Am I remembering correctly that some cards have built in translation
hardware to work on older devices where they are not supported?

Re: OT SD cards

I believe you are referring to the new SDHC cards, commonly sold in 4gb and
8gb variety currently.
They are not backwards compatible with SD, and it seems doubtful a
workaround/hack will be forthcoming.
