Toshiba is closing out the Satellite A105-S2712 (Centrino, Pentium M
740, 512 megs, 60 gig SATA hard drive, "burn everything" (including DVD,
all formats) optical drive, 1200x800 15" widescreen LCD. A very nice
upper mid-range computer that had been selling for $999 to $1,299.
There are lots of deals on this model, but here is what seems to be the
Circuit city has it on sale this week for $799 ($999 less $200 rebate).
If you want, you can get "free after rebate" all of the following:
-Epson CX3810 "all-in-one" printer / scanner / copier
-D-Link DI-524 Wireless G router
If you have received a rebate from Circuit City in the past 3 months
(your "black Friday" rebates), the check stub has a coupon for "10% off
any purchase over $199". It will save you $118.50 (the 10% is figured
on the before rebate prices of everything, including the printer, router
and case as well as the laptop).
Toshiba has an additional $50 rebate that Circuit City doesn't seem to
(but, instead, register online at:
Use a credit card with a rebate to pay for it, of course. If you sell
the router and printer, you net cost will be about or possibly even less
than $600. However, you will be dealing with 9 rebates, so plan some
time for "rebate work".
Several aspects of this offer end Saturday (Feb. 25th), but you may be
able to place an order now even if they are out of stock, and pick it up
next week. Even when the stores are sold out, they do seem to have good
warehouse stock, at least in the midwest. [You may also be able to
mail-order from Circuit City-dot-com].
