Has anyone ever bothered to connect their GPRS enabled phone to a laptop?

How easy was it?

Twinkle twinkle little star,
Guide me to the nearest bar.
Please don't tell me it's too far,
I'm too drunk to drive a car.

Your service provider should be able to provide you with the configuration
information for the phone.

I would not say very easy but normally without any major problem. First
your laptop must recognize your phone. This usually requires the use of
software provided by the phone manufacturer (which may be or may not be
easy to locate). Second, you must adjust some phone parameters on the
laptop and create a new connection, entering the information provided by
your network (dialing number especially, varies from system to system).
Third, you must decide which way to connect your phone to the laptop
(IR, Bluetooth, cable) and adjust the connection parameters accordingly.
Fourth, on some networks, you must activate the GPRS after you have
signed for it by dialing a number indicate by the network.

Once this is done, the connection should work.
