700m. I'm not sure why or how, i havent dropped, spilled, or abused the
laptop and its strange it happened.
1. I checked the windows left/right balance in the volume properties
and those are fine.
2. I can hear sound from the left speaker.
3. I tried removing drivers, restarting and have windows auto install
the drivers again, nothing changed. then went to dell support website
for sound drivers, installed those, no change.
4. If i use my headphones, I can hear sound from both left and right,
everything is fine.
I noticed that if i close my screen have way, meaning i can't read from
from the screen if the laptop is on the table, then the sound comes
back from the right speaker! it seems it might be a loose wire
connection... or not. I'm not sure.
Could it be a driver/bios/software issue or do i need to open this
laptop up. Are there instructions, or picture guide online on how to
open this laptop? How risky is it? When I first got it I did open it to
install a second stick of RAM, but I haven't really dissected this
I didnt buy any warranty so for repairs, i would have to pay out of my
pocket, plus its about 16 months old. If so, how much you think it
Thanks for the help and advice. I appreciate it.
Re: no sound in right speaker
That is rather uncharitable. It may be obvious to you and probably many
other contributors to this group, but not everyone has the same
understanding of PCs and how they work.
The raison d'être of this and many other groups is for the less informed to
tap into the knowledge and experience of those that know.
