Hope someone can help me. I have just bought one of these and find that the
internet connects very easily on mains power through an adaptor.(on a
wireless home based network ) But as soon as I take out the power supply
plug.....the internet disconnects and will not reconnect.
I have a feeling it may be to do with the ePower Management software, which
is new to me, and wonder if anyone can advise me. The computer has Windows
XP Home service pack two installed.

Do I understand you correctly - your internet connection is over a wireless
link? If so, then the problem is almost certainly that your power management
is configured to disable your wireless network when on battery. I haven't
got the relevant unit in front of me to confirm this but I think you just
need to change the relevant power profile. Read the 'Empowering Management'
help stuff on your computer. As a short term fix, you can change this
setting on the fly. On the taskbar, you should see a rectangular icon (green
I think). Right click this and you should get a list of devices powered on
(ticked) or off (unticked). Just tick your wireless card and it should power
