Re: need help choosing a new dell laptop
prices in the past 2 weeks or so (probably inventory clearing prior to
the arrival of the Conroe chips for laptops (actually I should say
"Merom" and not "Conroe"). 30 days ago, about the best that you could
do for a Pentium M CPU was about $799. But in the past 2 weeks I've
seen Pentium-M's and Core Solo's at much lower prices (as low as $499).
Point being, at this point, don't buy a Celeron based laptop, because
Pentium-M's and Core Solo's don't cost any more.
[I know you said Dell, but this week both Best Buy and Circuit City have
some good deals on Toshiba A105's .... $649 at CC and $699 at Best Buy.
Same models except that the BB unit has a 100GB hard drive, the CC
unit is only 80GB. These are fairly high-end and have DVD burners,
WiFi, internal flash memory card readers, etc.]
