i have a sony vaio pcg-fx340 which currently has one 256MB sodimm in
it. the second memory bank is faulty, and I can use only one sodimm.
everything i have read seems to indicate that 256MB is the max you can
put in each bank. has anybody successfully sued a single 512MB sodimm,
or is there any reason it won't work?
Re: maximum memory for sony vaio?
I am not sure of that....many sony notebooks can be upgraded to have a
maximum RAM to 2 Gig....
I h ave upgraded the RAM in some of my old notebook and in one
occasion replacing two128 mb with one 256 mb n and it works. But I did
not let it stay that along, as I added another 256 mb to the emply
slot to make a total of 512 mb.
Therefore its likely that using 512 mb will work as well
