I am attempting to install a linksys wpc11 NIC on my ibm thinkpad
The laptop is currently running win98se.
Device manager is telling me that the nic will not not function
without enabling irq steering. Whenever i attempt to do so, the
computer reboots, locks up, and will not restart without me manually
forcing it. Once it has rebooted, the problem remains unchanged.
According to the nic's properties screen, there is a input/output
conflict between itself, the programable interrupt controller, and
motherboard resources. I am unable to change these settings on either
of these three devices to resolve the conflict.
Any ideas how to help solve this problem so I can get this computer
_end of line.
