two wires. One wire which is pink and the other wire which is paper
thin. Somehow the thin wire has been disconnected and I can't trace
back to where it became disconnected. There is also a black wire
thats unhooked. I've tried touching them together but that did
nothing. I'm almost tempted to just buy a new screen off E-Bay
Anybody got any ideas?

inverter. That is a high voltage connection (can be over 1,000 volts, a
LETHALLY high voltage), and those wires are "special" (silver plated).
One end will go to a 2-conduct connector plugged into the inverter, the
other end will go to an end terminal of the lamp. AGAIN, THAT IS HIGH
VOLTAGE. Don't screw with it unless the laptop is off.
The black wire is probably a ground and is probably not absolutely
necessary for operation.
