Here at our lab we have an old Latitude C600/C500 (PP01L) that has some
issues with it's LCD.  The bottom corners get very hot and the LCD
eventually switches off (I have to hit Fn+CRT/LCD a couple times to get
it back.  The screen also flickers.

Is this a voltage inverter problem?

Possible but hard to say.  Could be a bad lamp, bad inverter, improper
assembly (e.g. your panel is defective) or bad design (e.g. they are all
that way).

The only remedy i see here is get a new LCD
