- Laptop won't run on batteries

Recently, it stopped running whenever it wasn't on AC power. The
battery icon in the display is constantly flashing yellow. When the
laptop is plugged in, the actual battery part displays the green light
to show that it's charging. This leads me to believe that the battery
is fine, but something is wrong with the laptop for it to not receive
battery power correctly. Is there something I can do to get this
fixed, or is the damage permanent?
Thanks for your help!

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts your battery has departed for the happy
hunting grounds. Two years is about all you can expect from an original
equipment Li-ion pack in regular use. If you're not planning on
replacing the machine soon, or if you're going to keep using it as a
backup to its replacement, buying a new battery pack would be advisable
even if it turns out I'm wrong and you do have a problem with the

More than likely, what I've suggested above. If the battery is shot,
it's shot, and there's really no way to fix it safely or economically.
If, however, you really do have a problem with the charging circuit,
it's your call as to whether you want to throw money at this machine or
put it towards another. Frankly, I'm not sure what I'd do in this case
if I were you.
Good luck regardless. Let us know how this works out.
