I need help finding a laptop/notebook with nVidia 3D graphics to run
OpenGL on Linux.

I would like to keep it under $1000.

I would like to make it a dual-boot system: Linux and XP.

Please share your experiences and ideas.

Re: laptop/notebook for Linux, OpenGL, nVidia

I own a Dell Inspiron 6000, dual-booting between Windows XP and Linux.
It has an ATI Mobility Radeon x300 graphics card, with OpenGL working
great. This laptop would work for you if you're not tied to a nVidia
card. The linux distrubution I'm using is Ubuntu Linux
( ) which detected all of my hardware during
installation, no post-install configuration necessary. I had to
download and install the OpenGL ATI driver to get 3D acceleration to
work, which was pretty simple for me to do, and I'm a complete newbie
to linux.
