To assist you, I'd suggest that you peruse your local computer stores.
A laptop that can surf the Net can be as old as 15 years, if that is all
you want. Heck, I have a buddy with a 486 running some 1993 version of
DOS and he has high-speed wireless Internet on it!
However, I suspect you need more. Regardless, if the stores can't help.
look in your local papers for individuals selling old laptops. They are
easy to come by. I just traded a Hammond reverb cabinet for the equivalent
of $100 and got a nicely working Toshiba "Satellite" model with a good
battery and power supply.
