My laptop display has started to output just moving vertical color
lines. Windows loads correctly. I know because of the opening sound.
The display driver is the common Intel for laptops with a big blue
monitor icon on the task bar  that when clicked gives three options 1.
laptop 2. External 3.Dual display.

Now I need to know how to activate dual display with a keyborad
shortcut since I can't see the monitor icon to choose dual display. I
need to handle sensitive data out of the computer before I take it to
be repaired by connceting an external monitor or TV (it also has TV
out) and activate dual display.

Does anybody know the key combination to toggle (activate) dual display
and monitor display??

What can possibly cause the thin vertical color lines moving sideways?
Is it the display panel connection to the laptop or the display set
gone loose or broken??

My opinion is that the video adapter or the lcd itself is failing.  On
many laptops, the internal/external monitor toggle is Fn-Fx where x is
3,4,5,6,... If the function keys have no little icons you'll just have
to try each key combination until you find it.

What laptop?
